Our structured Peer Mentor programme harnesses the skills and talents of people with lived experience creating opportunities for them to give back, gain new skills, and increase their confidence. In turn, this supports their personal readiness for taking on the challenges of living independently and access work or training.
Customer involvement through co-production, co-design and co-delivery is also a priority. This gives our people a real chance to guide and inform the services we offer and enables Jigsaw Support to truly embed a culture that values the contributions of people within our community with lived experience.
The peer mentor programme has had many personal successes with customers securing permanent accommodation, further volunteering and paid roles, and access to suitable education courses. We hold a graduation ceremony for every cohort to recognise their effort and achievements.
“Since meeting people in the Co-Production group and getting to know each other, I feel I trust more people now. I want to learn more and become a keyworker to support people who are in a situation like I was in a few years ago.”
Referrals to the programme are made by keyworkers for those already accessing our services.
