Our Peer Mentor programme has been going from strength to strength. Using a structured approach as part of a * week peer mentor programme, we have harnessed the skills and talents of people with lived experience. Creating opportunities for everyone to learn, gain new skills, increase confidence and become ready to take on the challenges of living independently and access work or training.
Customer involvement through co-production, co-design and co-delivery is also a priority. It enables Jigsaw Support to truly embed a culture that values the contributions of people within our community and adopts a commitment to enhancing our service by involving people with lived experience. Our peer mentor teams have also assisted with more extensive system change programmes, sharing their insight to inform GM Housing First, Real Change and Manchester Poverty Truth Alliance.
The peer mentor programme has had many personal successes with customers securing permanent accommodation, further volunteering and paid roles, and courses including Higher Education. We hold a graduation ceremony for every cohort to recognise their effort and achievements.
