If you are a tenant or resident in a Jigsaw Homes property in Greater Manchester and aged 16 or over, we can support you to break down barriers to accessing employment, education or training opportunities.
Our Employability Support keyworkers offer one-to-one and group support sessions, working with you to create a support plan tailored to your individual needs.
Common barriers to employment, education and training that we can support you with include:
- Housing and homelessness
- Money management and debt
- Social isolation
- Substance misuse and addiction
- Domestic abuse
- Mental health, physical health or disability
- Criminal convictions
- Low confidence or self-esteem
In addition to addressing these barriers, the team can support you with:
- Goal setting
- Digital skills
- Creating or updating your CV
- Creating the perfect cover letter
- Job Searching tips and support
- Interview skills, tips and preparing for an upcoming interview
- Accessing training and educational opportunities
- Improving basic skills and life skills
- Budgeting, debt and money management
- Guidance on obtaining qualifications or registration/licences – e.g. SIA licences, CSCS cards
- Other employability support
To be eligible for this service you must be:
A tenant or resident of a Jigsaw Homes property within Greater Manchester
Aged 16 or over
We can also support individuals who are already in some form of education or employment, for example those on zero hour contracts wishing to find alternative employment.

This referral form can be used as a self-referral or completed by a referring agent working with you.
We also have an additional group support offer, which is open to both tenants and non-tenants who live within Tameside.
Our Empowering Futures sessions are part of Foundations Tameside and are designed to build confidence and provide the skills necessary to set and achieve your goals. This can include digital skills, wellbeing, budgeting and much more besides.
We run these from:
- Tameside Women & Families Centre on Thursdays at 10.30 – 12.00 (Women only) and
- Cavendish Mill Hub on Wednesdays 1 – 2.30 pm (Men and women)
