How we can help

We believe that no one should have to live in fear of abuse or violence. Studies suggest many millions of people are affected every year and tragically, two women are killed every week by their partner or ex-partner. If you are experiencing domestic abuse, are worried about someone or are concerned about your behaviour, there is lots of support available.

Bridges Manchester provides a multi-agency response to those experiencing domestic abuse. We work alongside Greater Manchester Police, Early Help and Children’s Social Care teams co-locating in the North, Central and South Manchester hubs. Victim-survivors will be supported on a one-to-one basis, with planned group sessions also available to increase awareness, help people identify abuse, learn about appropriate relationships and improve self-esteem.

Who is eligible

Adults at risk of, or experiencing, domestic abuse can be referred to our services. We triage all referrals and will support victim-survivors experiencing standard or medium risk. We will let you know if there is another service better suited to support you.

How to refer

We will respond to all referrals within 3 working days. Please use our referral form.

Professionals will complete the DASH risk assessment as part of the referral process to ensure we are providing the correct level of support (the Police will use the DARA+ tool).

If your referral is for someone deemed to be at a high risk of harm/homicide from domestic abuse, you should instead complete DASH/RIC DARA + and submit to MARAC (via locality). They will then be referred to Manchester’s IDVA Service.  For more information visit MARAC: Information for Practitioners | Help & Support Manchester

Self referral
If you are a victim-survivor of domestic abuse, please self-refer by emailing BridgesManchester@Jigsawhomes.org.uk  (monitored weekdays  9am-5pm) and we will contact you to arrange an initial assessment. If you are working with a professional agency, they should complete the referral with you, if possible.

If you are experiencing an emergency, call 999.
